I have been with depression patients for many years, so I have a very clear understanding of this phenomenon-the reason why it is called a phenomenon is because ‘depression’ does not exist at all.
You may have heard the idiom "One Leaf Obstructs Eyes", which refers to: just covering your eyes with a leaf can prevent you from seeing the whole world. The phenomenon of depression happens to complement this idiom. It arises from the mind focus on one or several thoughts---because all consciousness energy is concentrated on this thought, so we can't pay attention to or experience anything else.
Yes it is. It's that simple!
Those thoughts that are firmly locked and believed to be true are obscure leaves. They can be expressed in various forms, but the essence is one: "If a person or a certain situation (or the whole world) cannot be changed, I cannot survive."
All thoughts that cause depression in the depths of the subconscious are nothing more than death. But the truth is: those oppressive and long-lasting painful thoughts have nothing to do with real death threats! Will you be depressed at the critical moment of life and death near the explosion? Will there be depression when you are about to fall off the cliff in the next second?
You will not, never will.
Therefore, the ‘depression’ in the mind was originally a false proposition. This feeling has nothing to do with what happens in the moment, and it has nothing to do with real death---birds are calling, leaves are shaking, white clouds are floating; you are breathing, you are frowning, and you are in a daze. This is the whole reality, this is the scene outside the mind.
If we completely divert our attention from a certain thought, even if it is only five seconds: perhaps, you suddenly see an old grandmother who needs help, or you suddenly find yourself stepping on a little turtle. This sudden transfer of consciousness will cause a huge change in your inner part --- within these five seconds, you will not be depressed. Then, you go back to that idea, and ‘depression’ comes again!
That's why I said responsibly: Depression does not exist. If something can disappear at any time, then it cannot be true. Isn't it?
Now that we understand it and comprehend it, we can make ourselves an observer---observe your thoughts, observe your attachments. And realize that accusing others and resisting the world in this way will not bring you everything you want. Also realize: you don't need to live in your head at all.
Just go back to the reality and observe yourself and the current world with your heart. The disease will disappear.
